You Are Still God’s Masterpiece in This Season of Infertility

Infertility can quietly change the way you see yourself.

It’s not just the appointments, the waiting, or the unanswered prayers. It’s the subtle questions that start to surface.
Who am I if my body doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do?
Did I do something wrong?
Why does everyone else seem to move forward while I feel stuck?

In a recent episode of The Purpose Beyond Motherhood Podcast, counselor and ministry leader Monica Bates joined us for a conversation about identity, emotional health, and freedom in seasons of waiting. What she shared was grounding and honest. You are not broken. You are not forgotten. You are still God’s masterpiece.

Scripture tells us in Ephesians 2:10 that we are God’s workmanship. His art. His ongoing creation. Not finished products, but deeply intentional works in progress.

One of the most powerful reminders from this conversation was the importance of naming what you’re actually feeling. Infertility brings grief, fear, anger, numbness, and exhaustion. Too often, women feel pressure to cover those emotions with spiritual language instead of bringing them honestly to God.

Healing doesn’t start with pretending you’re fine.
It starts with telling the truth.

Monica shared practical tools for slowing down, noticing what’s happening in your body, and asking God what truth He wants to speak into the beliefs you’re carrying. When you feel inadequate, unseen, or disconnected, those feelings are invitations to realign with what God says is true.

This episode also reminds us that emotional health and spiritual health are connected. Caring for your body, your nervous system, and your need for rest and community is not selfish. It’s part of how God restores us.
